Guatemalan Artisans To Be Featured in Library Foundation Fashion Show
Fashions, jewelry and accessories from Under the Same Moon, a foundation promoting the work of Guatemalan artisans, will be featured at the Framingham Public Library Foundation’s spring fashion show and afternoon tea, on Sunday, May 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the main library’s Costin Room.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase beautiful, handcrafted items for themselves or for a unique Mother’s Day gift. All purchases will help to empower these female artisans, and enable them to educate their children and to greatly improve their lives. Bring your mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friends to enjoy a fun afternoon together and raise money for a good cause. Petite sandwiches, desserts and refreshments with a Guatemalan flair will be served.
Tax-deductible tickets are $25 and available at both the main library and the Christa McAuliffe branch library. Proceeds will benefit the Framingham Public Library Foundation (a 501 (c) 3 organization) and the Under the Same Moon Foundation. The fashion show is sponsored by the Homework Center Program, which provides free tutoring for students in grades K-12. The Homework Center is funded in part by a grant from Impact Framingham.
